The NSWRL has confirmed that Laurie Daley will continue as the coach of the Blues for the 2026 season, despite a disappointing performance in Game 3 of the 2025 State of Origin series.

ZeroTackle reports that Daley's team came into the series with high expectations, having initially won Game 1 in Brisbane.

However, adjustments made by Maroons coach Billy Slater led to a series win for Queensland, with their Game 3 performance being described as one of the best in Origin history.

While the Blues dominated several statistical areas during the decider in Sydney, they struggled to convert their dominance into points, ultimately falling short against a formidable Maroons side.

Following the match, Daley faced scrutiny over his team selections and tactical decisions.

His post-match remarks suggested that he felt no changes were needed within the squad, intensifying calls from fans for a change in leadership for the upcoming series.

Despite the mounting pressure and criticism, NSWRL CEO Dave Trodden stated in an interview with Code Sports that they would not be terminating Daley's contract, marking the continuation of his second stint as head coach.
