Daley ready to Blues it again for 2026

New South Wales Blues head coach Laurie Daley has expressed his desire to continue in his role for the 2026 Origin series, despite the disappointment of losing the 2025 series.

According to reports from zerotackle.com, Daley's team initially won Game 1 in Brisbane but fell short in Games 2 and 3, played in Perth and Sydney, where they went into halftime trailing by 20 points in both matches.

Queensland reclaimed the shield they had lost the previous year to the Blues, who had celebrated a historic decider victory on enemy territory.

Following this series loss, scrutiny surrounds Daley's leadership, especially since he stepped into the coaching position after Michael Maguire returned to the NRL as head coach of the Brisbane Broncos earlier this year.

When directly asked if he believes he should continue as coach, Daley confidently stated, "I don't see any reason to step down," emphasizing his belief that the core group of players can succeed next year.

He feels that while improvements may be needed, radical changes to the squad are unnecessary.
