In a clash that marks 90 years since the first battle between England and France in Paris, the two cross-Channel rivals are set to face off in a double-header in Toulouse this Saturday.

The women's match kicks off first at 2.30pm BST at Stade Ernest-Wallon, followed by the men at 5pm BST.

The upcoming showdown is not just about history, but also about looking towards the future for both teams.

With none of his NRL players available for the mid-year internationals, England's head coach Shaun Wane has selected six new faces from the Betfred Super League to join his 19-player squad for the match.

Players like Sam Wood from Castleford Tigers, Elliot Minchella from Hull KR, and Brad O'Neil from Wigan Warriors are all eager to make their mark and earn their first full international caps.

"You look round the room and it's all the best players in Super League, so it is going to be a level above," Wood commented.

"I'm just going to enjoy the whole week for what it is and soak it all in."

As England and France face off once again in Toulouse, it's not just a battle of skills and tactics, but also a nod to the rich history and tradition of rugby league.

The clash promises to be a true test of strength, determination, and the future of the sport for both nations.
