Cronulla have extended Michael Gabrael's contract by two years, keeping the centre at the club until at least the end of 2029, beyond his existing 2027 deal.
The 21-year-old earned his NRL debut in 2026 after strong performances for Newtown Jets in the Knock-On NSW Cup.
Across 33 appearances over the past two years, he scored 27 tries and provided 10 assists.
Sharks general manager of football Darren Mooney said, "Michael is still only 21, but he has now spent three years in the full-time program."
He added, "We believe he is well placed to challenge for a regular spot in the NRL side next season."
Gabrael joined Cronulla ahead of the 2024 season after time with the Bulldogs and began his junior career at the Eels.
He represented NSW City Under 18s in 2023, then played for the NSW Under 19s in 2024.
In his NRL debut against Melbourne in round 27, he ran for 125 metres, including 40 after contact, and made 10 tackles without a miss in 70 minutes.
Gabrael said, "I'm really happy to be re-signing. It's a club I'm really grateful to be a part of, and I'm loving my time here."
