Cronulla Sharks aren’t chokers, they’re much worse than that

The Cronulla Sharks have been accused of becoming 'chokers' after their latest finals failure, but the reality is much worse.

The team has been compared to a cursed student who keeps repeating year 12 with the same HSC score.

Their recurring finals nightmare has now stretched into a fifth year, leaving many to question if they will ever graduate or if they will forever be the dodgy 'classmate' with questionable facial hair.

The 13-12 defeat to the patched-up Roosters on Saturday night has left coach Craig Fitzgibbon's finals record in tatters at 0-3.

It has also resurfaced questions about Nicho Hynes' ability to perform under pressure and whether Brad Fittler can be blamed for the team's struggles.

While the loss may have raised accusations of the Sharks "choking," upon reflection, it was agreed that they shouldn't be labeled as such.

The team's performance goes beyond simply succumbing to pressure in important games.

It speaks to deeper issues within the club that need to be addressed.

The Sharks' inability to deliver in crucial moments has become a pattern, highlighting a lack of mental resilience and strategic execution.

This recurring problem is far more concerning than simply being labeled as chokers.

It is clear that the Sharks need to address their shortcomings and find a way to break free from this cycle of disappointment.

Otherwise, they risk becoming stuck in a perpetual state of underachievement and frustration.
