Cronulla extend rising halfback Pollard

2025 NRL Pre-Season Challenge – Raiders v Sharks

In 24 NSW Cup games in 2026, Riley Pollard scored 11 tries, kicked 48 goals and made 16 try assists, with tackle efficiency above 85%.

His form earned him an NRL debut against Melbourne in Round 27.

The 21-year-old has extended his Cronulla Sharks contract through 2028, having previously been signed for 2027.

He had spent two seasons with Newtown, playing 36 games before his NRL debut.

Pollard joined Cronulla in 2024 after representing St Dominics College Kingswood and Australian Schoolboys, then progressed through SG Ball and Jersey Flegg.

"I love it here; Cronulla is exactly where I want to be," Pollard said to Sharks.com.au.

Cronulla General Manager of Football Darren Mooney praised Pollard's improvement at senior level.

"Riley was an outstanding junior and an Australian Schoolboys representative, but what has impressed us most is the way he has continued to develop and improve at senior level," Mooney said to Sharks.com.au.
