Cowboys v Knights: McLean returns; Young gun set to debut

The North Queensland Cowboys and Newcastle Knights are gearing up for an exciting match, offering a sneak peek of next season's opening game in Las Vegas.

The teams will meet during a thrilling triple-header at Allegiant Stadium, marking the NRL's third visit to the entertainment hub of the US.

Before that, they will clash in a critical late-season matchup at Queensland Country Bank Stadium.

Coached by Todd Payten, the Cowboys recently faced a heartbreaking one-point defeat against the Eels, although there were encouraging signs displayed at a rainy CommBank Stadium.

As they return to Townsville, the Cowboys are optimistic for better weather to showcase their explosive offensive play.

On the other side, the Knights also faced a defeat in the rain last week, losing to Penrith at McDonald Jones Stadium, and they are eager to break a five-game losing streak.

While the season has been challenging for Newcastle, rising star Jermaine McEwen has emerged as a standout performer for the team.
