The Cowboys NRLQ U20s team is set to debut in the new NRLQ U20 Series this weekend, featuring emerging talent from Queensland's four NRL clubs over a six-week competition.
North Queensland kicks off their campaign with a match against the Broncos on Saturday, which will precede the NRL game against the Wests Tigers.
This series is introduced to fill the gap left by the absence of an under-21s competition for Queensland clubs.
Key players to watch include halfback Zac Herdegen and centre Assariah Lenoy, who have already gained experience during the Cowboys' first NRL trial against The Dolphins in Cairns.
Additionally, front-rowers Tavita Penaia Te'o and Travis Larner, along with winger Joseph Doyle, were instrumental for the Mackay Cutters, who reached the semi-finals of the Mal Meninga Cup.
