The North Queensland Cowboys have secured the re-signing of talented winger, Derby, in a move that has delighted fans and teammates alike.

Hailing from PNG but raised in Cairns, Derby made his mark in the Young Guns program before earning his spot in the NRL squad.

Known for his blistering speed and eye-catching footwork, Derby made a memorable NRL debut in Round 13 of the 2023 season, leaving opposition defenders in his wake with an impressive 215-metre performance.

Despite facing some setbacks due to injuries in 2024, Derby made a triumphant return to form representing PNG in the Pacific Championships, showcasing his scoring prowess in all three fixtures.

With an impressive track record of six tries in seven international appearances and 27 tries in 40 Queensland Cup games, Derby's signing is a major coup for the Cowboys.

Fans can catch him in action tomorrow night as he gears up to take on The Dolphins in the Cowboys' first trial of the 2025 season in Cairns, where he will undoubtedly shine in front of his hometown crowd.
