In a move that has all the makings of a classic underdog story, the North Queensland Cowboys have decided to extend the contract of their dynamic front-rower, Griffin Neame.

Already locked in for next season, the Cowboys have shown their faith in this rising star by securing his services until the end of the 2026 season, just in time for their upcoming showdown with the Newcastle Knights.

Since making his debut in 2021, this Kiwi powerhouse has notched up an impressive 66 appearances for the Cowboys, quickly establishing himself as a key player in Todd Payten's squad.

Hailing from the land of the long white cloud, Neame has proven time and time again that he has what it takes to dominate the field and make his mark on the game.

"Griffin has been a shining light for us, rising through the ranks of the development programs to become a linchpin in the NRL lineup," said Cowboys General Manager of Football, Micheal Luck.

"He thrives when he's got a clear role and knows what's expected of him, and this extension gives him the stability he needs to excel until 2026."

With this contract extension, the Cowboys are ensuring that their forward pack remains a force to be reckoned with for years to come.

Neame's blend of power, skill, and determination is sure to be a game-changer for the team as they push towards glory on the rugby league battlefield.
