The North Queensland Cowboys have announced the re-signing of hometown talent, Chester, on their official website.
Chester, who came through the ranks of the renowned rugby league nursery Ignatius Park College, joined the Cowboys Young Guns program in 2021 before making his NRL debut in 2022.
The 22-year-old utility back featured in seven NRL games in 2023, with three of those appearances coming as the starting fullback in place of the suspended Scott Drinkwater.
Unfortunately, Chester's promising season was cut short by an ACL injury in Round 9 against Cronulla, where he was leading the voting for the Cowboys Paul Bowman Medal.
Despite the setback, Chester is expected to return to full training following the Christmas break and aims to make an early-season comeback for the Cowboys.
