The North Queensland Toyota Cowboys have secured a two-year contract extension with prop Tom Mikaele, lasting until the 2028 season.
At 28 years old, Mikaele has become an essential part of Todd Payten's middle forward lineup over the last year.
He has played a total of 90 NRL matches, including 23 for the Cowboys since joining the team before the 2024 season.
A graduate of Keebra Park State High, Mikaele made his NRL debut with the Wests Tigers in 2019 and has also played for the Gold Coast Titans and Warrington in the UK Super League.
Although currently recovering from a knee injury, he is expected to return as early as Round 4 to take on the Melbourne Storm at Queensland Country Bank Stadium.
