Cowboys Extend Contracts for Young Talents

Cowboys Secure Future Talent with New Contracts

The North Queensland Cowboys have officially announced that they have secured contract extensions for promising players Archie Mesritz and Fanafou Seve.

Both athletes were integral members of the recent NRLQ under-20 grand final championship team, and they are now set to continue their journey with the Cowboys as they aim for promotion to the first-grade team.

Among the two, the Cowboys have high hopes for Mesritz, who has inked a contract that runs until the end of 2030.

Hailing from the Central Coast of NSW, Mesritz initially played junior rugby union while growing up in Brisbane before transitioning to league and joining the Cowboys' ranks in 2025.

He quickly showcased his talent, winning both the Mal Meninga Cup and the NRLQ in his debut season. The fullback is known for his sharp rugby league instincts and impressive running capabilities.

Seve, in contrast, has secured a contract that will last until the end of 2028, with both upcoming seasons dedicated to the development roster.

A key figure in the NRLQ championship team, Seve's role in the front row was crucial to their success. Over the next two years, he will have ample chances to demonstrate his skills and aim for a position in the Top 30.

Additionally, Seve has represented NSW at the under-19 level and has already achieved experience with eight appearances in the QLD Cup.
