Cowboys' Duo in Hot Water, Tackling Trouble Ahead

The North Queensland Cowboys are facing potential suspensions for two of their players, John Bateman and Viliami Vailea, following incidents in their match against the Melbourne Storm.

Both players received charges from the Match Review Committee (MRC) due to events in the first ten minutes of the game.

Vailea is facing a Grade 2 Dangerous Contact charge for a hit on Nelson Asofoa-Solomona, while Bateman was charged for tripping Shawn Blore, also classified as Grade 2 Dangerous Contact.

If the duo contests their charges and is found guilty, their one-match ban could be increased to two games.

This situation adds to the challenges facing the Cowboys, who suffered a significant 38-14 defeat to the Storm, despite having a larger share of possession.

Coach Todd Payten expressed his frustration, stating, "It's just pure disappointment, we didn't make a good team earn anything."
