The Roosters' dreams of bringing young gun Joseph Suaalii back to the NRL have been dashed with the revelation of a sneaky $4 million clause in his deal with Rugby Australia.

It looks like it will be a long five years before we see Suaalii back on the rugby league field, as his lucrative contract includes a hidden player option worth an extra $4 million, taking the total deal to a whopping $9 million over five years.

This is a game-changer for Suaalii, who stands to earn much more in union than he would in league.

Suaalii's agent Isaac Moses, known for his crafty negotiations, was the mastermind behind this lucrative deal, adding yet another feather to his cap in the world of sports management.

Rugby Australia CEO and Wallabies legend Phil Waugh kept his cards close to his chest when asked about Suaalii's contract, playing it safe as any seasoned player would.

This revelation adds another layer of intrigue to the ongoing saga of Suaalii's future in the world of rugby.
