Cody Ramsey's chances of staying with the St George Illawarra Dragons until 2026 are diminishing rapidly.
The versatile player, who can fill the roles of both fullback and winger, was recently honored as the club's NSW Cup player of the year at their award night. However, the Dragons are not prepared to extend a Top 30 contract to him.
Despite the club's support during his struggle with ulcerative colitis, Ramsey appears to be exploring opportunities elsewhere for the 2026 season. His management has disclosed that he is attracting interest from multiple NRL clubs and rugby union teams. According to Wide World of Sports' The Mole, the Parramatta Eels and Sydney Roosters are reportedly the two NRL sides vying for his signature.
The Roosters are currently seeking long-term replacements for James Tedesco and Daniel Tupou, both of whom are nearing the end of their careers and are off-contract at the end of next season.
While the Roosters have secured players like Billy Smith and State of Origin debutant Robert Toia, there are concerns about possibly losing Mark Nawaqanitawase back to rugby union, which could complicate their outside back situation significantly.
