Coby Williamson was the star of the show as Melbourne Storm's Jersey Flegg side secured a hard-fought 24-20 victory over the Penrith Panthers at Gosch's Paddock on Sunday.
The win was crucial for Storm, as it put their fate in the finals race in their own hands.
Throughout the 70-minute match, Storm displayed impressive defensive resilience, setting up an eagerly anticipated clash against the Raiders in the final round of the season at AAMI Park.
Despite a shaky start, Storm managed to open the scoring with Ali Okusitino finding space down the right edge to score in the fifth minute.
The Panthers quickly responded with a try from Billy Scott, who took advantage of a Joseph Nohra grubber that rebounded off the post.
Both teams continued to exchange tries, with Keagan Russell-Smith scoring for Storm in the 15th minute and Cody Lawson replying for the Panthers.
Just before halftime, Storm capitalized on a scrum in a favorable position, with Stanley Huen's quick hands finding Coby Williamson, who effortlessly ran through a hole untouched.
