Selwyn Cobbo has signed a one-year deal with the Dolphins, set to leave the Brisbane Broncos at the end of the 2025 season.
The star back's move follows a decline in his standing under coach Michael Maguire this season, resulting in his removal from the NRL side after a significant loss to Manly in May.
He is currently in the final year of a contract worth approximately $625,000 annually.
The 23-year-old is expected to join the Redcliffe-based Dolphins in November.
Although Dolphins chief executive Terry Reader expressed skepticism about the move while addressing reporters on Thursday, the announcement was made on Friday morning.
