Sea Eagles' interim head coach Kieran Foran has provided insights regarding the potential for teenage sensation Joey Walsh to be elevated to first grade.
Numerous voices on social media within the NRL community have expressed their apprehensions about the Sea Eagles' direction for the remainder of the season.
A significant portion of the discussion has focused on fans eager for Walsh to take over the five-eighth role from Luke Brooks, guided by Foran.
Following Anthony Seibold's dismissal just four weeks into the season, it appears Foran will maintain a roster similar to that previously named by Seibold.
Recently, Foran announced a line-up strikingly akin to the team that fell to the Sydney Roosters, aside from suspended player Jason Saab, who has been substituted by Clayton Faulalo.
During his inaugural press conference as head coach, Foran noted that it wouldn't be fair to Walsh to throw him into the fray while the team endeavors to regain its footing this season.
Considering Walsh's limited experience in the 13-man format, Foran intends to take a careful approach before Walsh makes his first-grade comeback.
"There's obviously been a lot of noise from the outside about Joey Walsh, but what people have got to understand is that Joey is 19," he stated.
"He's come through as a rugby union kid, extremely talented and gifted, and he's still very early on in his rugby league journey."
