Amid mounting job pressure, Anthony Seibold stood firm following his team's third consecutive home defeat to kick off the season, while Daly Cherry-Evans faced boos during his return.
The Roosters rallied from a 10-8 halftime deficit to secure a 33-16 victory, giving Cherry-Evans a winning return to Brookvale after his departure from the club.
This loss only intensified the scrutiny on Seibold, who finds himself among several coaches under pressure due to a winless start to the 2026 season.
Despite this, Seibold remains confident of his position, asserting he is the right choice for the role. He noted that those making decisions regarding his future will communicate directly with him.
"I can't control that decision, I mean, only Scott and the ownership group can control that, so there's no point in wasting any energy or time on that," Seibold stated.
He further expressed, "I think I've invested a lot of time in the club over the last three or four years and made a lot of sacrifice with my time, but if I'm not the right person, I'm sure Scott will tell me."
As the season progresses, the stakes continue to rise for Seibold and his team.
