Scott Sorensen is facing a race against time to prove his fitness for the NRL grand final, with the determined back-rower eager to shake off a pesky hamstring injury and make his mark on the biggest stage.

The seasoned player, who has faced his fair share of setbacks this season, is leaving no stone unturned as he battles to be fit for the showdown with the Storm on Sunday.

Despite missing out on the previous finals matches, the two-time premiership winner is pulling out all the stops to be included in Penrith's squad for the grand final.

After putting in the hard yards at the fan day fitness drills, Sorensen's determination is evident as he strives to make a triumphant return to the field.

Should Sorensen be unable to take his place in the lineup, Matt Eisenhuth stands ready to step in, with the experienced forward nursing an ankle injury of his own.

However, Sorensen is not letting this setback dampen his spirits, expressing optimism about his recovery progress and his chances of making it back in time for the grand final.

Reflecting on his injury woes, Sorensen remains resolute in his quest for a comeback, stating, "I just aggravated it a little bit during training before the first finals game.

It wasn't quite back to square one, but I had to get back into rehab and make sure it was strong so I could make myself available for the weekend just gone.

That wasn't to be, but that's all right.

Everything is tracking along well."

As the clock ticks down towards the grand final, Sorensen's determination and resilience in the face of adversity epitomize the never-say-die spirit of Rugby League.

With his sights set on a triumphant return to the field, the seasoned player is leaving no stone unturned in his quest for glory.
