North Queensland Cowboys' official website, cowboys.com.au, has recently reported that Jake Clifford, the 2018 Rookie of the Year, has signed a one-year contract to return home in 2024.

Clifford, a proud North Queensland product and Tully Tigers junior, began his rugby league journey in the Cowboys Academy system before progressing to the NYC in 2017.

In the same year, he was awarded the prestigious Player of the Year title in the competition.

Displaying his skills as a five-eighth, Clifford made his NRL debut for the Cowboys in 2018 and went on to represent the club in 42 games before leaving midway through the 2021 season.

Following his departure, Clifford spent the remainder of 2021 and 2022 at the Knights before joining Hull FC in the UK Super League in 2023.

Despite being away from the Cowboys, the 25-year-old has continued to excel in England, showcasing his talent by scoring five tries and successfully kicking 46 goals, accumulating an impressive total of 112 points in 19 games.
