Cleary's Witty Response to Egg Threat

NRL Rd 25 - Panthers v Raiders

Panthers coach Ivan Cleary humorously expressed that his primary concern is the possibility of his box being egged by Warriors fans, rather than facing off against prop forward James Fisher-Harris in their upcoming match in Auckland on Saturday night.

The elimination final is packed with intriguing storylines, notably Fisher-Harris's recent transition from Penrith to the Warriors, and the presence of Jett Cleary, who could potentially spill family secrets during the match against his dad and brother.

However, an unexpected twist for the Panthers is a Warriors fan page on social media rallying supporters to make noise outside the hotel where the Panthers are staying, urging them to set off fireworks, do burnouts, and chant.

This post suggested not only egging Cleary's coach's box but also invading the field when the Panthers are on the attack. Cleary, who formerly coached the Warriors, took the threat light-heartedly, recalling that his team had encountered similar situations during past finals.

"I just worry about eggs, not Fish (Fisher-Harris)," Cleary said on Wednesday morning.

"I'm not too worried. I have some experience with the Warriors fan base. They're a good natured lot and very passionate.

"It actually happened to us in 2022 when we were staying in Parramatta before a prelim. Parra beat the Cowboys up in North Queensland, so we were pretty much kept up all night."
