Cleary's Future Uncertain Amidst Speculation

Andrew Johns Believes Cleary is Pursuing One Last Objective in NRL

Nathan Cleary's career path is currently uncertain, but Andrew Johns has identified a key reason why he thinks the Panthers star will stay put.

As Cleary's contract nears its conclusion, speculation around his future intensifies.

Clubs from rival codes are showing interest, while international teams are preparing lucrative offers, including a stunning four-year contract from Hull FC reportedly worth nearly $2 million per season.

Additionally, with his partner Mary Fowler now based in Manchester, the allure of a move to England only intensifies.

Nonetheless, Johns remains skeptical about Cleary's departure.

"He won't leave until he owns Origin," Johns expressed during an episode of Wide World Of Sports' Immortal Behaviour.

"He's won competitions, he's won everything at club land - but I don't think Nathan will leave until he owns an Origin series."

"If you look at any of the great halves or X-factor players over the last 30 years at Origin… that's where you build your real legacy."

A crucial deadline approaches, as November 1 will see Cleary eligible to negotiate with other clubs if no extension is signed, and insiders believe he will take advantage of this opportunity.
