Penrith's head honcho Ivan Cleary is feeling a bit jittery about his son and star player, Nathan Cleary, after a shoulder injury left the crowd at Penrith in a stunned silence.

The coach isn't too optimistic about his lad's injury, with scans on the horizon to determine the extent of the damage suffered in the clash against the Storm.

With his trusty co-captain Isaah Yeo backing him up, Cleary's absence on the field isn't seen as a complete knockout to the Panthers' premiership dreams.

Yeo believes they've triumphed without Nathan before, and they can do it again.

The Panthers' hopes of nabbing a fourth consecutive premiership have taken a mighty hit with the world's top player yanked from the game in the midst of the storm, clutching his shoulder in agony.

Despite the tackle looking pretty innocent, Ivan Cleary revealed that Nathan had been battling shoulder troubles in the lead-up, making the situation all the more tense.

"I'm a bit on the fence about it, but I'm more than a little concerned seeing him hobble off the field," said Ivan Cleary.

"We'll get those scans done tomorrow and once we have a better grasp of the situation, we can figure out the next steps."
