Penrith Panthers head coach Ivan Cleary has addressed rumors about his son Nathan's potential shift to rugby union, confirming that Nathan will remain with the Panthers until at least the end of his current contract in 2027.

Speculation had intensified regarding Nathan's interest in moving to the 15-man game in Europe, largely fueled by his partner, Mary Fowler, who plays football in England.

Nathan has previously mentioned that rugby is a sport he could consider exploring in the future.

However, Ivan emphasized that there is no chance of such a transition occurring before Nathan's contract expires, amid the Panthers' struggles in the 2025 NRL season.

"Nathan's here for another two years, so that's where he's going to be," Ivan stated during an interview on SEN Radio.

While he did not completely rule out a future move, he reassured fans that Nathan's immediate focus remains on his current team.
