Parramatta Eels NRLW Co-Captain Kennedy Cherrington has been handed a hefty four-match suspension following a dangerous throw incident.
Cherrington, who appeared before the NRL Judiciary on Tuesday night, pleaded guilty to the Grade 3 charge, which resulted in her being sent off during the Eels' clash against Newcastle.
As a result of her plea and the severity of the offense, she received a four-match ban, effectively ruling her out until the Eels' Round 8 game against the Titans.
This suspension will undoubtedly be a blow to the Eels' NRLW campaign, as Cherrington's leadership and on-field presence will be sorely missed.
The dangerous throw incident serves as a reminder of the NRL's commitment to player safety and the strict consequences for actions that put players at risk.
Cherrington's absence will provide an opportunity for another player to step up and fill her role, but her experience and skillset will be difficult to replace.
The Eels will need to regroup and adjust their game plan accordingly to compensate for the loss of their co-captain.
