New details have surfaced regarding Daly Cherry-Evans' potential move to the Sydney Roosters, with reports indicating that he is on track to sign a one-year contract.
The veteran halfback, who was dropped from the Queensland State of Origin team prior to Game 2 of this year's series, will part ways with the Manly Sea Eagles at the end of the current season.
Despite Cherry-Evans expressing that he will not rush his decision, speculation about his transition to the Roosters has persisted for months.
While no official announcement has been made, journalist Michael Chammas confirmed on Channel 9's 100% Footy that the deal remains likely.
He mentioned, "My understanding is it's a one-year deal.
He will announce that later in the year."
Following the one-year contract, Cherry-Evans is expected to continue with the Roosters in a coaching capacity starting in 2027.
