Rugby League star Chad Townsend is set to bid farewell to the Cowboys and head back to the heart of the action in Sydney, as confirmed by North Queensland Cowboys football boss Michael Luck.
As Townsend gears up for his final season with the club, his future has been shrouded in speculation, with talks swirling around the end of his time on the field before he calls it a day.
Despite playing a crucial role in the North Queensland Cowboys' attacking lineup, Townsend has been informed that there won't be room for him in the squad next season, as a frontrunner emerges to secure his signature.
"Chad is a true champion, a real pro who knows the ins and outs of the game," Luck shared with The Courier Mail.
"We broke the news to Chad last week that unfortunately, there won't be a spot for him here due to salary cap constraints."
As Townsend prepares to say goodbye to the Cowboys, fans can't help but wonder where the talented player will end up next, eager to see which team will benefit from his skills on the field.
