Mason Caton-Brown has described spearheading Salford's recovery from rugby league oblivion as a full-circle moment wrapped up in all sorts of emotions.
According to skysports.com, the Salford Red Devils' 152-year history came to a close on December 4, when they were dissolved after a brief hearing concerning an unpaid tax bill owed to His Majesty's Revenue and Customs.
After a challenging 2025 season, which saw them relegated from Super League, the Red Devils' membership was promptly revoked by the Rugby Football League.
This week, hopes for a 'phoenix club' to emerge in order to fulfill the previous club's commitments in the upcoming second-tier Championship were confirmed, as a consortium led by former player Caton-Brown secured membership approval from the RFL.
In an interview with Sky Sports, the 32-year-old, who played 37 matches for Salford between 2014 and 2016, reflected on the tumultuous recent weeks.
"It was an amazing feeling," he said. "One of the happiest days. There was a bit of relief as well because the last few weeks have been pressure and excitement, so to get the green light was an amazing feeling, but the hard work starts now."
