Former Wallabies fly-half Carter Gordon is poised to make his rugby league comeback after 357 days, following a remarkable recovery from surgery due to a spinal fluid leak.

In May, Gordon underwent successful surgery in Perth, performed by neurosurgeon Dr. Arul Bala.

After signing with Gold Coast in mid-2024 on a two-year contract for the 2025-26 season, the ex-Rugby World Cup star has yet to make his NRL debut due to injury issues.

Over the past three months, he has diligently worked on his recovery, including full contact training for the last four to six weeks.

Gordon's last match was on August 24 of last year when he played for the Titans' feeder club, Tweed Heads.

Making his return comes after a tough year, which has also seen him embrace fatherhood with the recent birth of his daughter, Ellie, who is now six weeks old, alongside fiancée Abbey.

"It's super-exciting. I had a bit of a crazy year with the injury and having a baby so it's a bit of a full-circle moment," the 24-year-old Gordon shared with AAP.
