Queensland Rugby League veteran Kurt Capewell is taking all the talk of David Fifita replacing him in the State of Origin decider in his stride.
Despite calls from fans for the Titans powerhouse to take his spot, Capewell remains unfazed, stating he's not offended by the suggestions.
Capewell, who has heard the chatter surrounding Fifita, brushes off claims that his team was "monstered" in the previous game at the MCG.
The edge forward, with his fair share of big-game experience, is set to make his 11th Origin appearance after being promoted to the starting side.
While acknowledging Fifita's impressive form, Capewell is focused on the job at hand.
He understands the clamor for Fifita to start at Suncorp Stadium next Wednesday, given his destructive abilities with the ball, but remains undeterred.
"Dave's a top-notch player and he's been tearing it up on the field," Capewell commented.
"I leave the selection decisions to those in charge, and I'm not bothered by the chatter about Dave taking my spot.
I've been chosen for the team, and I'm ready to put in the hard yards and do what needs to be done."
With a mindset like that, Capewell is all set to tackle the challenge ahead and show why he belongs in the Maroons squad.
