Tom Weaver, a young half, has had the opportunity to experience the NRL firsthand this week as he joined the Titans squad for their Round 24 game in Sydney.

He was included in Jim Lenihan's 22-man line-up to face the Sharks on Friday night.

Weaver, who is only 20 years old, was able to join the playing group on their trip interstate due to his late weekend Hostplus Cup fixture.

This was his first time traveling with the Gold Coast team, giving him a taste of what it's like to be part of the first-grade squad.

Weaver has been learning from experienced players like Kieran Foran, Tanah Boyd, and AJ Brimson during his time at Titans training.

He impressed many during the pre-season trials with his performance in the halves.

However, he is not in a hurry to make his first-grade debut and is content to continue honing his skills with the Tweed Seagulls.
