Melbournestorm.com.au is reporting that the Melbourne Storm's Jahrome Hughes and Harry Grant showcased their attacking prowess in a dominant 46-16 victory over the Eels on Friday.
Grant impressed with two tries, utilizing his exceptional running skills from the ruck, while Hughes contributed five assists, three line breaks, and a try of his own.
This dynamic duo took control of the game at Marvel Stadium, seeking redemption after their loss to the Knights last week.
Motivated by the significance of Old Boys' Day, coach Craig Bellamy's team solidified their status as contenders for the 2023 premiership.
They outplayed last year's grand finalists and secured their place in the top four of the competition ladder.
The Eels initially struck first in the fifth minute, with Mitch Moses and Clint Gutherson executing a slick play that allowed winger Sean Russell to score a remarkable try in the corner.
However, Grant quickly responded in the 11th minute by taking matters into his own hands and scoring a try from dummy-half.
He then combined with Hughes in the 22nd minute to extend the home side's lead to 12-4.
The Storm's momentum continued to build, and in the 27th minute, Grant returned the favor to his halfback.
He cleverly split the Eels' markers from dummy-half and passed across the grain to Hughes, who effortlessly sliced through the defensive line and ran 30 meters to score next to the uprights.
