Kennedy Cherrington, a Westpac NSW Blues star, has expressed strong support for the return of the Bears, believing it will help rugby league become the leading sport in Western Australia.
Cherrington, who moved to Perth at the age of nine due to her father's job in the mines, first engaged with rugby league through the Rockingham Coastal Sharks.
Over time, she has witnessed the growth of the sport in the region and has made regular visits to support the development of player pathways.
With the establishment of their own team, Cherrington is optimistic that rugby league is set to thrive in Perth and beyond.
