Campbell Rejects $1 5 Million Contract Offer

The Gold Coast Titans have reportedly achieved another significant retention milestone by securing spine star Jayden Campbell's services. This news follows the team's announcement on Thursday evening regarding the re-signing of second-rower Beau Fermor until the end of 2029, a move that strengthens the Titans while posing a challenge for the Perth Bears as they construct their initial 30-man roster.

According to News Corp, Campbell has agreed to a five-year contract worth $4.5 million with the Titans. This contract means he will forfeit around $1.5 million that the Bears reportedly offered him under a $6 million deal over the same duration.

While other Sydney clubs have expressed interest in Campbell, he seems focused on remaining with the Gold Coast, committing his future to the Titans until at least the end of 2031. This re-signing positions him as one of the club's longest-contracted players, second only to Tino Fa'asuamaleaui, if the latter chooses to exercise his player options, confirming the team's intention to establish Campbell as their long-term halfback.

Campbell's deal is expected to begin at approximately $800,000, gradually increasing in line with the salary cap, ultimately leading him to earn a seven-figure salary by the contract's conclusion.
