NRL legend Cameron Smith was left as shocked as a rookie player making their debut at a sudden announcement regarding James Fisher-Harris' future move to the Warriors.
Fisher-Harris, known as the best prop in the game to many, had been expected to stay with the Panthers, where he had been a mainstay since 2015.
However, the NRL world was left in disbelief when the Warriors unveiled their four-year deal with Fisher-Harris, causing a ripple effect in the rugby league community.
The Panthers, showing compassion, granted the 28-year-old a release from his contract, paving the way for his move back to New Zealand.
This signing is a game-changer for the Warriors, especially with Adin Fonua-Blake departing next season.
Storm legend Smith, known for his on-field leadership and strategic plays, was left scratching his head at the surprising announcement.
Fisher-Harris' departure from the Panthers, where he had been a cornerstone player since 2015, was unexpected and caught many off guard.
"It's a huge deal considering his loyalty to Penrith," Smith expressed on SEN Radio.
"He's been instrumental in their recent successes, winning accolades like the Golden Boot and Dally M Prop of the Year in 2020 and 2021.
It's a real shake-up in the NRL landscape, like a sudden change in game strategy that leaves everyone guessing."
