Cameron Munster has dodged the surgical team but will be sidelined for up to 10 weeks due to a pesky groin injury.

The news isn't ideal for both the Melbourne Storm and Queensland, but it's not the end of the world either.

The Maroons have taken a hit with Munster being ruled out of this year's State of Origin series, but the Storm can breathe a sigh of relief as the star five-eighth is expected to make a comeback before the finals.

Munster, who has been dealing with a troublesome groin issue since the start of the season, will be sitting out for the next 8-10 weeks.

Despite making a strong return in round five, Munster's injury resurfaced during the Eels match at Magic Round, forcing him to leave the field just before half-time.

The Storm managed to dominate without him, showing their depth and resilience.

The 29-year-old will tough it out and play through the pain when he makes his comeback, possibly in round 20 against the Roosters at AAMI Park.

The Storm's director of football, Frank Ponissi, stated that Munster has a tear in the adductor tendon, but surgery won't be necessary as they opt for a conservative approach through treatment and rehabilitation.

Munster will have to dig deep and push through the pain barrier to return to the field and help his team in their quest for glory.

But knowing Munster's tough-as-nails attitude and determination, he'll be back stronger than ever before you know it.
