Melbourne Storm maestro Cameron Munster has emerged unscathed from a contentious moment in the NRL grand final, as the Match Review Committee cleared him of any wrongdoing in the alleged 'bite' incident involving Paul Alamoti.

Despite Penrith's victorious 14-6 triumph over the Storm, the post-game chatter was dominated by a hotly debated 'no try' call against Jack Howarth and Alamoti's biting accusation against Munster.

In the dying moments of the match, Alamoti shocked spectators with his biting claim against Munster, who vehemently denied the allegations.

Referee Ashley Klein allowed play to continue until a stoppage, at which point Alamoti displayed what he said were bite marks on his arm.

Klein mentioned seeing saliva, but deferred the decision to the match review committee.

Munster found himself on report after video footage showed his mouth in close proximity to Alamoti's arm during the tackle.

The talented playmaker expressed frustration at the accusation and awaited the MRC's ruling on the matter.

However, on Monday morning, the committee announced that there was insufficient evidence to charge Munster, granting him a reprieve.

In true Rugby League fashion, Munster's fate hung in the balance as the league's governing body deliberated his innocence.

Ultimately, the decision cleared the way for Munster to move forward and focus on the season ahead, putting the grand final drama behind him.
