Sharks forward Rhiannon Byers is dedicated to supporting Indigenous teenagers in pursuing their dreams, both in sports and life.
As a Wiradjuri woman and full-time youth coordinator for the Kurranulla Aboriginal Corporation, Byers is committed to helping young people in southern Sydney connect with their culture while transitioning from school to adulthood.
This journey of cultural exploration is one she is still on herself, and she has noticed a positive influence on her rugby league performance as a result.
Byers also highlighted her recent involvement in the Moree Knockout, where she was inspired by how the event united the community.
Her dual role as a professional athlete and youth mentor reflects her passion for fostering emerging Indigenous talent and making a lasting impact in her community.
