Sam Burgess is confident that Warrington Wolves are poised to make history with their new defensive strategy, as they gear up to face off against St Helens in the Super League play-offs.

The showdown will be broadcast live on Sky Sports this Saturday, September 28.

Under the leadership of head coach Sam Burgess, the Wolves have had a sensational season, finishing third in the league.

They managed to rack up an impressive 740 points while also boasting the best defensive record, conceding only 319 points.

Their third-place finish sets them up for a home eliminator clash against the Saints, offering them a shot at securing a spot in the semi-finals and ultimately chasing their dream of reaching Old Trafford.

Despite having competed in four previous Grand Finals without success, Burgess is determined to turn the tide for his team.

"We've shown great consistency and unity as a team," Burgess remarked in anticipation of the upcoming match.

With their sights set on rewriting the history books, Warrington Wolves are ready to take on St Helens with a newfound determination and resilience.
