The Canterbury Bulldogs are in talks with their star playmaker Toby Sexton as the November 1 deadline looms.

Sexton, who started the year in the NSW Cup and had to fight for a spot in the team behind Drew Hutchison, had a sensational season, helping lead the Bulldogs to the 2024 NRL Finals alongside Matt Burton in the halves.

The 23-year-old, a former U19s Junior State of Origin player, played 16 matches this year and has been a standout since his breakthrough in Round 12 against the St George Illawarra Dragons.

With 15 force drop-outs, 14 points scored, 12 try assists, and eight line-break assists, Sexton has been making an impact on the field, averaging 68 running metres per match.

With Sexton one of 16 off-contract players at the Bulldogs at the end of the 2025 NRL season, negotiations have begun between his management and the club in an effort to secure his future at Belmore.

The Bulldogs are keen to hold onto the talented playmaker as they plan for success in the seasons to come.
