The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs, a Rugby League team, have put aside their usual post-season celebration known as "mad Monday" to participate in a more meaningful tradition.
According to a report on bulldogs.com.au, the entire squad, along with more than 40 staff members, gathered at the Loaves and Fishes Restaurant in Ashfield to support the Rev Bill Crews Foundation.
This foundation aims to tackle homelessness, poverty, and disadvantage by providing direct assistance and various caring services.
The Bulldogs spent their Monday in the kitchen and cool room of the restaurant, helping out with food provision and other tasks.
By turning out the morning after their final game of the season, the team demonstrated their commitment to giving back to the community.
The Rev Bill Crews Foundation's focus on social welfare and education support aligns with the Bulldogs' dedication to making a positive impact on society.
This act of service showcases the team's unity and selflessness, as they put their own celebrations aside to contribute to a greater cause.
The Bulldogs' involvement in this initiative highlights their commitment to being more than just a sports team, but also a force for good in the community.
