Bulldogs Support Galvin as Finals Game-Changer

Bulldogs captain Stephen Crichton is confident that Lachlan Galvin will elevate his performance during the 2025 NRL Finals, despite facing ongoing criticism.

Reflecting on last year's Mad Monday celebrations, Galvin's past 12 months have been exceptionally eventful compared to other NRL players.

Entering the season as a potential key player for the Wests Tigers, he quickly became a prominent name in Australian sports after requesting a release from the club that initially nurtured his career.

The media spotlight has followed him since joining the Bulldogs, and the scrutiny has intensified, with many attributing the club's recent struggles-only two wins in the last six weeks-to him.

Both victories were against the injury-stricken Warriors and a depleted Penrith side, and Galvin's performance has not met the high expectations set by legends like Andrew Johns and Brad Fittler, who consider him a "generational talent."

As calls grow for Galvin to be replaced by Toby Sexton, the Bulldogs' existing halfback who lost only four matches in 2025, his teammates continue to back him. They believe Galvin might be the game-changer the team needs, especially during the finals.

"One hundred per cent, he can reach that next level," captain Stephen Crichton stated in an interview with Zero Tackle at the NRL Finals launch.
