Bulldogs players to wear names on back of jerseys in Vegas initiative
The Canterbury Bulldogs will feature player names on the backs of their jerseys during their match against St George Illawarra at Allegiant Stadium for Round 1.
This game marks the third edition of the NRL's Vegas initiative, which also includes a matchup between the Cowboys and the Knights, as well as a Super League clash featuring Hull KR and Leeds.
Bulldogs CEO Aaron Warburton noted that this decision reflects an American sports trend, as the club will showcase players' surnames on the jerseys specifically for the event scheduled on February 28.
Although surnames have been present on jerseys in various rugby league competitions and special events, Warburton pointed out that the Bulldogs will be the first NRL club to offer personalized jerseys with players' names sublimated on the back for retail.
The Bulldogs have actively advocated for this change, and Warburton mentioned there is significant support from fans for having players' names featured on their jerseys.
