Bulldogs' New Star: Galvin Signs, Eyes on the Prize

Benji Marshall speaks out as Lachie Galvin spotted in eye-opening move at Bulldogs training

Wests Tigers coach Benji Marshall has addressed the situation regarding Lachie Galvin, after the young playmaker was spotted at Bulldogs training, despite his high-profile move not being officially confirmed.

Marshall disputed claims that the club is "disappointed" about losing Galvin, who was seen in Canterbury gear at the Bulldogs' Belmore headquarters.

Reports indicate that a $175,000 release fee has been agreed upon, with Galvin set to sign a contract worth $750,000 per season that would keep him at the Bulldogs until at least 2028.

The delay in finalizing the agreement relates to a "non-disparagement clause" the Tigers required, which prevents Galvin from discussing his exit.

This comes after previous reports of him potentially pursuing legal action over bullying allegations against the club.

The Bulldogs have reportedly accepted this clause, marking a significant step towards finalizing his transfer.

Galvin had recently declined a $5 million contract extension with the Tigers.

His attendance at Bulldogs HQ followed his exclusion from Marshall's squad for the upcoming match against the Cowboys.

When pressed about Galvin during a press conference, Marshall refrained from delving into details, instead adopting a positive outlook for the team.

"I guess everyone's probably a little bit sick of talking about it and it being reported," he remarked.

"But we're just focused on the game.

I know it's a cliched thing to say, but we have to be.

It's been a great week at training."
