The Canterbury Bulldogs are preparing for a significant 2026 season, aiming to bounce back from a disappointing end to an otherwise strong campaign.

As part of this overhaul, the club is considering a coaching staff reshuffle, reportedly looking to recruit a recently dismissed NRL coach to revamp their offensive strategies.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, the Bulldogs have initiated discussions with former coach of the Newcastle Knights, Adam O'Brien, with the intent of bringing him in as an assistant.

Officials from the Bulldogs met with 'AOB' on Thursday to explore his potential role at Belmore.

If O'Brien joins, he would be assigned as the team's attacking coach, addressing the Bulldogs' difficulties in scoring during crucial matches.

Under this potential arrangement, the current attacking coach, Jason Taylor, would transition to a different position, even though he is under contract until the end of 2026.

While the Manly Sea Eagles have also expressed interest in O'Brien, sources indicate that he may be favoring the Bulldogs.
