Bulldogs Forwards Receive Mixed NRL Judiciary Verdicts

The NRL judiciary has delivered its verdicts for Bulldogs forwards Harry Hayes and Samuel Hughes after their hearing on Tuesday evening.

Both players chose to contest charges related to high tackles from the weekend's match, even though these infractions could have resulted in fines.

Snyder Hughes was found guilty of a Grade 1 careless high tackle for a first-minute hit on Dallin Watene-Zelezniak during Canterbury's victory in heavy rainfall against the New Zealand Warriors on Saturday. Had he accepted an early guilty plea, he would have incurred a $1000 fine; however, the guilty verdict means he will now have to pay $1500. This marks his first offence, but it places him at greater risk for harsher penalties over the next year should he commit any further violations.

On the other hand, Hayes faced charges for a high tackle on opposition forward Demitric Vaimauga occurring after halftime during the match.
