The Canterbury Bulldogs have officially announced the coaching staff that will support head coach Cameron Ciraldo for the 2026 NRL season.
Adam O'Brien, previously let go by the Newcastle Knights after the 2025 season, will serve as an assistant coach. While the club has yet to confirm specifics, reports suggest he will focus on improving the Bulldogs' offensive strategies, despite the Knights' struggled performance in that area last season.
O'Brien brings a wealth of experience, having served as an assistant coach with both the Melbourne Storm and Sydney Roosters prior to his tenure with Newcastle. He also has familiarity with many members of the Bulldogs' roster, which could prove beneficial as he transitions into his new role.
In addition to O'Brien, the Bulldogs have appointed Trent Elkin as the lead for athletic performance and rehabilitation, alongside Michael Kulen, who will take on the role of attack analyst. Elkin has two decades of experience in the NRL, having worked with various clubs and even within the refereeing sector, while Kulen joins the Bulldogs after spending the last eight years at the Manly Sea Eagles.
Phil Gould, the club's director of football, took to social media to unveil the complete list of staff appointments for the upcoming season. Chad Randall and Luke Vella will continue their assistant coaching positions, Jason Taylor will remain as the NSW Cup coach, and other well-known figures such as Mick Potter, Josh Jackson, Steve Turner, and Mark O'Meley will take on various roles across the club's pathways.
