The Canterbury Bulldogs are eyeing up Stefano Utoikamanu to beef up their pack and make a serious push for the premiership in 2025.
Coach Cameron Ciraldo is keeping a close eye on the situation, with rumors swirling that the Bulldogs are in the running to sign the powerful prop from the Wests Tigers.
While Utoikamanu has been courted by the Melbourne Storm, the Bulldogs have swooped in with a tempting offer that could see the hulking forward join their ranks for the next five years.
With Sitili Tupouniua already signed on, the Bulldogs have the space in their salary cap to bring in a big man like Utoikamanu to bolster their hard-working and mobile pack.
"We've got a lot of promising young talent coming through, and adding someone like Stefano would only strengthen the squad," Ciraldo said.
"He's a quality player with a lot of potential, and we would welcome him with open arms if he chooses to join us."
The Bulldogs have been punching above their weight all season, but adding Utoikamanu to their ranks could give them the edge they need to go all the way.
As they say in Rugby League, it's all about building a team that can weather the storm and come out on top.
With Utoikamanu on board, the Bulldogs could be a force to be reckoned with in the years to come.
